We, Ulla Salomonsson and Russ Murtagh, are Fjällform’s proud owners. Since 1982 we have been living and working in the little ”village” of Västeråsen, at the foot of the Oviken hills, some 40 km south west of the city of Östersund. Our workshop and home have a lovely setting with panoramic views. Nordic Kiwi is the name of our company and we as a couple have been working with ceramics and glass for more than 40 years.
Fjällform has an interesting history. Jan och Ingrid Wirtberg from Östmark had for many years developed a unique product, tracks from wild animals transferred to ceramics. Both as exhibition pieces and as educational aids e.g. for government departments, hunters and others with an interest in nature. In 2004 Lena and Leif Silversund bought the business and in the lovely mountain settlement of Ottsjö, 20 km south of Åre, they continued to develop new products and grow the business to what it is today. In December 2012 Fjällform was sold for the second time to Nordic Kiwi and all production is now in Västeråsen, Oviken.
Fjällform’s products can be purchased from many tourist destinations in central/northern Sweden or directly via this website.
